All these expressions or idioms serve the purpose of reminding by making repeating them easy. I’m not sure they are meant to provoke deeper thinking.
Implicit in their simplicity, meaning is clear and no further explanation needed.
The phrases also share another common purpose, they invite and inspire behavior.
The one certain thing I know is that opportunity is co-created. People have to sense more of what’s present. This requires action, energy and ideally a break or pause from their routine and or purpose. Open their awareness by shifting their line of sight, taking in a deeper breath. Fill their nostrils with the surrounding aromas. Tune up and in to sounds near and far that unconsciously are filtered. Wiggle your toes to feel the ground below and imagine your thumbs also have the gift of sight and or smell to offer a multi sensory impression of what is touchable.
This little exercise awakens connections between our head and our surroundings.
Sure intention will keep nudging and hearken our return to purpose, the likes of which the phrases serve to remind.
If opportunity is what you seek, I hope the exercise will change your next actionable course. The information we seek is often more available than we imagine, we just need a broader, open casting net to collect it.
